This month we hosted federal and local lawmakers to help communicate the importance of passing groundbreaking legislation that will strengthen solar policies and grow a clean energy economy with renewable energy assets. We also penned an article for facilities managers on how going solar can help pay for a new roof, celebrate the new renewables legislation in Illinois and take a peek at the state of the New Mexico solar market. Celebrating solar in Maryland with U.S. Senators Cardin and Van Hollen!
Our Shepherds Mill community solar project plays a critical role in Maryland’s burgeoning community solar market and America’s effort to reach 100% clean energy by 2035. This month, along with the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), we hosted U.S. Senators Chris Van Hollen and Ben Cardin and other government and industry leaders for a site visit. It was a great opportunity for the Senators to share their messages on the critical role renewable energy plays in our nation’s infrastructure.
We look forward to working together with more Senators like Cardin and Van Hollen to build a clean energy economy across the U.S. Read more here.

In a recent article for Facilities Management Advisor, our Director of Business Development, Daryl Pilon, discusses how to work with a solar financier to get the best of both worlds: the electric bill savings of a solar system and that much-needed roof work.
We’re excited about Illinois’ landmark legislation that will provide a pathway to a clean energy future for the state. As the fifth-largest energy-consuming state in the U.S., it has huge solar potential and is poised to take a quantum leap in solar development.
Looking for the latest solar rankings or national installation data points? SEIA’s updated solar data cheat sheet is a great resource to help the industry stay aligned on our numbers as we continue our push for solar forward policy and a clean energy economy!
Following recent legislation in New Mexico, utility regulators have nearly a year to create a set of rules for governing community solar projects. However, its largest utility and other investor-owned utilities have already received hundreds of pre-applications and interconnection requests related to community solar.
