In this Financial Times article, our Vice President of Engineering C.J. Colavito weighs in on the need to address systemic issues holding up renewables deployment in America. These issues include supply chain bottlenecks and cumbersome interconnection processes.
We’ve acquired three community solar projects totaling 21 MW from New Leaf Energy. The projects are estimated to bring 30,356 MWh of renewable energy to NY and MA each year — delivering clean energy savings to hundreds of residents and businesses.
For the innovative commercial and community solar developer, agrivoltaics, the synergy between farming and solar, offers a viable alternative to conventional large-scale renewable development. It is a unique model that brings considerable benefits to all involved.
How will the solar industry meet the expected surge in solar driven by the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA)? The new infusion of incentives will provide an enormous boost for the industry, but it will not remove barriers to deployment like long interconnection queues. C.J. Colavito reviews this and more in his latest Renewable Energy World article.
Maryland is currently considering several energy-related bills including HB 908, the Community Solar Energy Systems Program, which passed the house on March 18th. The bill now sits in the Energy, Education and Environment Committee. If passed, this bill would effectively turn the Pilot Community Solar Program into a permanent program. We are proud of our home state!
