Last week we released our latest issue of RE:NEW magazine which focuses on the rise of solar + storage in the U.S. In it, we hear from our own Dan Dobbs as well as from Gwendolyn Brown, Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC) and their thoughts on this rapid growth. We also continue to expand our portfolio with the largest urban community solar project in the Metropolitan Washington area. Finally, we're launching a three-part series about solar in schools - Solar Funding for American Educational Institutions. 👇

The Spring 2022 Issue of RE:NEW Is Here - Read What the Experts are Saying About Solar + Storage
Dan Dobbs discusses the rise of solar + storage in the U.S., how it's helping to build long-term grid resilience and enable climate change action in our communities. Then, Gwendolyn Brown of IREC provides insight on state policies around solar + storage and their effects. Finally, we highlight three of the newest solar + storage projects we've added to our portfolio.
We are partnering with The Catholic University of America to build the Washington metropolitan region’s largest urban community solar array — 7.4 megawatts (MW) — on the University’s campus in northeast D.C. The project will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by an estimated 7.115 metric tons annually, equivalent to removing 1,547 cars from the roads each year.
In partnership with Pivot, we completed a nearly 2 MW solar project near Lakewood, CO. It is the fifth and final site in a series of community solar developments launched by the partnership in 2019 in an effort to expand community solar access across the state. Standard Solar funded the community solar array and is the long-term owner and operator.
More than 28 municipalities and school districts across Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence counties in New York are reducing their electricity costs and boosting the state’s clean energy portfolio with solar energy. We recently completed an 11.52 MW-combined solar project for members of the Tri-County Energy Consortium with our partner U.S. Light Energy.
Learn about the current trends in schools "going solar" and discover the part the Power Purchase Agreement is playing in making it all possible by our own John Finnerty. The first article — Solar Funding for American Educational Institutions - ispart 1 of the three-part series. In Part 2, Finnerty discusses alternative funding options.
