Summer Is Almost Over, But Autumn Promises Bold Beginnings
This month we were proud to celebrate our leadership ranking on Solar Power World's 2022 list of Top Solar Contractors. We also marked the completion of two great projects in Maryland and New Jersey and, with GREAT enthusiasm are sending accolades and thanks to all who supported and helped pass the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA)! Our most recent blog tackles the topic of dual-use solar and what it means to our industry and agriculture, and we had a great time discussing how companies can reach their ESG goal at the Maryland Association of Counties' Summer Conference. This coming month will be a busy one as we prepare for RE+ in Anaheim (be sure to schedule a meeting with our team). Read about these topics and more👇

Leadership Ranking in Solar Power World
Solar Power World ranked Standard Solar #3 in the nation for commercial solar and #37 overall on its digital edition of the 2022 Top Solar Contractors list! They also highlighted our groundbreaking Lenox Solar and Storage Project in New York — the state’s largest such community solar project.
We celebrated the completion of a multi-pronged project for The Center School — a New Jersey special education school. The project was a result of creative financing that allowed the school to benefit from a roof restoration, a newly paved parking lot and solar on its rooftop as well as a carport. The 611-kilowatt project is projected to save the school a minimum of $30K annually.
Our own Director of Asset Management, Jay Smith, writes about how agrivoltaics — the renewables model that uses land for both solar and farming — is growing in popularity around the country, and our team has tapped its benefits for several projects. He highlights one of our partners and how they are bringing solar grazing to the industry and its impact on solar businesses.
At the Maryland Association of Counties' Taking Care of Business Conference, our own John Finnerty presented on how solar + storage can help county leaders align business practices with their environmental, social and governance (ESG) goals and assist Maryland in reaching its ambitious clean energy targets. The conference was a huge success, and Mr. Finnerty looks forward to sharing this message with more businesses.
We launched a combination carport and rooftop solar project in our home state of Maryland for the Anne Arundel County Department of Public Works. The system is expected to cover more than 90% of the total annual electricity needs of the Bureau’s Complex. In the first year of production, the combined systems are predicted to generate 1,645 megawatt-hours (MWh) of clean electricity.
